eTrain: How to Read a Credit Bureau Report
If you’re new to lending (and even if you aren’t!), credit bureau reports can be confusing. How do you translate the credit bureau data “shorthand” into useful loan underwriting criteria?
Help is on the way! Join credit expert Don Goldammer as he guides you through each part of a credit report. He will explain the significance of each section, giving you guidelines for determining how an applicant’s financial obligations have been handled in the past so you can make sound loan decisions for your credit union’s future.
You’ll learn how to:
- Determine previous address and work history
- Decipher public record information on bankruptcies, liens, and judgments
- Analyze payment patterns, including the frequency of late payments
- Check for recent inquiries from other current or potential creditors
- Identify other loans that you can bring to your credit union
Who should attend?

- Member Service
- Business Development
