eTrain: Form 990 & UBIT Update
Do you understand your Form 990 filing requirements for 2011? State-chartered credit unions are faced with traversing the troubling terrain of Form 990 filing compliance. Even experienced credit union 990 filers are trying to make sense out of the form.
Add to this challenge the IRS’s inclination to enforce the various accuracy related penalties, and you have many costly traps for the unwary credit union. This presentation will help you understand Form 990, its many requirements, the many applicable penalties, and the means by which your credit union can successfully traverse this troubled terrain. Karen A. Gries, CPA, from CliftonLarsonAllen LLP., will give you strategies and tools to help you avoid mistakes and file your form in a timely and more accurate manner.
You’ll learn about:
- Changes in the 2011 Form 990 which impact credit unions
- Key areas on public interest in the filing
- Compensation reporting challenges and opportunities for enhanced disclosures
- Current unrelated business income considerations
- Challenges encountered by organizations when addressing the statutory revocation of exempt status
