eTrain: Three Reasons Credit Unions Should Still Have SEGs
In the past several years, many credit unions have converted to community charters, abandoning at the same time their Select Employee Group (SEG) or business development efforts. One of the trends has been “bye-bye business development, hello community marketing.”
Maybe it’s time to reverse that trend.
According to award-winning credit union marketing expert Mark Arnold, a community charter should be your catalyst for expanding SEG marketing, not your reason for abandoning it. In this program, Mr. Arnold will explain why it’s a mistake for any credit union to write-off SEG relationships. He will explore these three reasons why:

Mr. Arnold will also discuss practical tips and tactics for credit unions to penetrate their SEGs.
Meet the presenter, Mark Arnold:
Mark Arnold, CCUE, is an acclaimed speaker, brand expert, and strategic planner with over 20 years of experience in the financial credit union marketing, business development, human resources, training, and sales. He is also president of On the Mark Strategies, a consulting firm that helps credit unions achieve their desired strategic goals through strategic planning, brand planning, leadership/management training, marketing planning, and staff training.
Before founding On the Mark Strategies, Mark served as senior vice president for Neighborhood Credit Union in Dallas, TX where he oversaw and planned strategies for multiple departments. He has also worked as communications manager for the Texas Credit Union League (TCUL) and in several positions at Community Credit Union. Mark is the author of multiple books, including Think Huge: Elevating Your Life and Your Business, My Best Service Ever and Marketing Across the Generations: Gen. X. Mark is also a contributing author for the Credit Union National Association’s Environmental Scan.
