eTrain: Establishing a Code of Ethics for Volunteers

Ready to register? Please select your credit union:

All organizations have a “Code of Ethics”, whether it is written as a formal document or just assumed to exist as a collection of shared values. But decisions that involve ethics that seem so obvious to one person may befuddle another, especially when observed behavior of the leadership isn’t always perceived as matching the lofty standards of the “Code”.

How do you ensure that your Code of Ethics means the same thing to each and every one of your volunteers? Do you all really agree on what is “right” and what is “wrong”?

Barry Thompson will show you how it ultimately becomes a matter of organizational culture. He will also provide you with practical training techniques you can use to help ensure that your volunteers consistently behave in accordance with ethical standards.

The Objectives:

  • Know where your corporate culture consciously or unconsciously weakens your ethics policy
  • Understand how your ethics policy makes you susceptible to problems
  • Learn how to teach ethics to your volunteers
