When you and your credit union open member and corporate business accounts, what documentation should you require?

Join credit union compliance expert Mary-Lou Heighes as she gives you the know-how to open and maintain business accounts of all types and sizes. You’ll learn your credit union’s rights and responsibilities to your business account holders, including the eligibility your credit union must require for business accounts within your field of membership. You’ll discuss how to verify who is authorized as an account signer, what kind of business they can transact, and the signature cards and forms the account holders should complete.

After this session, participants will be able to:

  • Recognize eligibility for business accounts within the field of membership
  • Identify documentation requirements and resources for business forms
  • Understand how businesses are organized
  • Verify the authorized signers according to the business account holder’s documentation
  • Comprehend how business accounts are insured under the NCUSIF
  • Distinguish the rule differences between state- and federally-chartered credit unions’ business accounts
